Simpson Strong-Tie began manufacturing structural connectors for timber-framed construction in 1956 in California, USA. Nearly 40 years later, the company entered the anchoring business with the introduction of the Epoxy-Tie® ET dual-cartridge epoxy system. Since entering the anchoring industry in 1994, the product line has expanded to include many anchoring, crack-injection repair and vinylester adhesives, a full line of powder-actuated tools and fasteners, and carbide drill bits for masonry and concrete. In 2008,
In 2004, Simpson Strong-Tie acquired Quik Drive® fastening systems, a company based in Gallatin, Tennessee, USA. At that time, Quik Drive was the leading worldwide manufacturer of auto-feed screw driving systems, offering tools and specialty fasteners for a variety of commercial and residential construction applications. Since then, the Quik Drive line continues to grow with new tools and attachments for a wide range of applications, including roofing and decking.
Quik drive operated in Australia for four years prior to the acquisition. In 2008 Simpson Strong-Tie's Sydney branch shifted into a new larger building in Arndell Park with the capacity to distribute all of the Simpson Strong-Tie products around the country. We have representation in all states and distribution nationwide to service the needs of all of our customers. The Sales team in Australia is equipped with the technical support and training to sell the existing products and other product lines that exist within the global company, into the local market.
The expansion into the other products that are available within the Simpson Business and that suit the local market, is also something that is constantly being looked at for the Australian business.
